Jack Wilshere the PFA Young player of the year | Jack Wilshere – the ball wining playmaker of Arsenal

Jack Wilshere the PFA Young player of the year

Jack Wilshere the PFA Young player of the year

Jack Wilshere – He creates he passes he tackles and he tweets is the 19-year-old teenager of Arsenal who recently won the PFA Young player of the year. 2010 has been the break-through for the Wilshere as he started to taste premier league football at Bolton as a loanee then he got the opportunity at the heart of Arsenal midfield with Fabregas injured which he garbed it with both the hands. He impressed every one with his matured and solid performances, for me I started liking the way how he wins possession and way he tackles and create chances.

His first start for Arsenal came in the away game against Liverpool in the 1st league game of the season from there on no stopping for Wilshere he has gone on to play 44 matches with 2 goals and 9 assists to his name with numerous ball winning tackles and chances created. The one performance that will stay ever green in my mind is his performance against Barcelona when every one in the field where losing the possession and getting booked while trying to gain possession, Wilshire stood still and won the ball on numerous occasions against the like Xavi, Iniesta, Messi and co. His performances were that impressive that Pep Guardiola hinted that Barcelona don’t need Fabregas but would want Wilshere. It has been a long time to see an English talent in Arsenal ranks but with the like of Walcott and Wilshere the legacy is still alive.

In the modern-day football the teams would require one or more playmakers, since there would be one in the opposition already marking the playmaker, like Nigel De Jong always marking Fabregas, So with the likes of Wilshere in the side we have some one else in the team to create chances as well as doing the ball winning acts. Thats why he has been the difference between the Arsenal 09-10 and Arsenal 10-11. I hope to see Wilshere stay at Arsenal for life and develop as club and county Captain.

Arsenal Transfers 2011-2012 | Arsenal Summer Transfers 2011-2012

Eventhough the season in any means over yet with gunners still having the chance to end their 6 year jinx I’m still writing this because it cant take it any more seeing the club I love, worship and trust end up being in this position that even being the best club in the league yet in the second place in the league table and loosing out in rest of the competitions.

Arsenal need experience and mover over the guys with wining mentality or the guys know how to win. Just look at Manchester United they dont have the best squad in the business yet they are winning simply because they have guys who have been there before and won multiple trophies in contrast Arsenal have only one player Clichy who has the premiership medal.

Gunners clearly needs players in 3 fields, Goal Keeping, defense and Striking department. With all the take over cloud surrounding Arsenal, Arsene Wenger will be assured with a hefty transfer sum, but as we all know Arsene wont be involved in big-money signings and more over what is the difference between Arsenal and other clubs if they do so, Arsenal FC is always a place to unearth gems or a place where a good player transforms to a top-class player. And they dont have to do so this season, Gianluigi Buffon is out of contract this season so is Alessandro Nesta, both quality experienced players and most importantly winners. Buffon and Nesta are the kind of guys gunners need to propel there young talents with the likes of Wojciech Szczesny and Johan Djourou excelling this season. And another player I would want see in donning the Arsenal jersey is a top class finisher. Arsenal have the best midfield which is second only to Barcelona and they create at least 10 chances a game and yet they end not scoring even a single goal due to care less or under pressure finishing. I would like to see Karim Benzema or Klaas-Jan Huntelaar as a string partner to Van Persie, both top class finishers and good in the air as well just what Arsenal desperately need.

Arsenal_transfers_2011-2012 | Buffon | Huntelaar | Nesta | Benzema

Arsenal_transfers_2011-2012 | Buffon | Huntelaar | Nesta | Benzema

With inclusion of this three players would obvious mean some players needs to get snubbed. So the players I mind not seeing feature in Arsenal squad are Manuel Almunia, Tomas Rosicky, Denilson, Sebastien Squillaci and Nicklas Bendtner. I’m not saying they are not fit to were the Gunners jersey or they dont have the quality but they dont have the most importantly thing that is what required, winning mentality.

I’m sure that with the Inclusion Buffon, Nesta and either Benzema or Huntelaar, Arsenal would be in a better position to win anything and break their jinks and keep up the history and tradition of Arsenal FC live and lastly get back the smile in the faces of fans like me.

Arsenal Players Shirt Numbers Under Wenger | Arsenal players transformation under wenger

Arsenal squad 2011

What would you do if your championship winning team is aging?

You would buy big names from else where to keep winning or scout for a fresh blood who can become a player who you what to be, Arsene Wenger opted the second.

Having opting for a new stadium costing 390 million pounds and the construction work starting on Feb 2004, Wenger had no resources to replace his aging squad, so he had no choice but to look for young players. I have to admit that Wenger and Arsenal scouting system has been the best from that time having scouted across the Europe in search for quality players with the eye of becoming super-stars and with Wenger had an eye for replacements for his aging squad and has assigned the shirt numbers to the young guns as their presessors, for instance

Arsenal No 4, Fabregas as was Viera, eventhough there are no comparisons between the players, they are the most important midfield players as well as the club captains.

Arsenal No 7, Rosicky as was Pires, both are tremendous two foot wingers, but the former couldn’t live up to the later due to his injury setbacks.

Arsenal No 8, Nasri as was Ljungberg, again two wonderful wingers with the former being more technically gifted and the later enjoyed success at Arsenal.

Arsenal No 10, Persie as was Bergkamp, the flying Dutchmen of the gunner’s era. Both are tactically capable of creating chances further to their goal scoring spree.

Arsenal No 14, Theo Walcott as was Henry, this is where Wenger comes in, how he transformed Henry then a winger to striker, trying that with Walcott too. First step of the transformation is assigning the shirt number and only time will tell if Theo has what it is got to be Henry.

Arsenal No 15, Denilson as was Parlour, both short holding midfielders but Denilson has to improve a lot show he is a worthy replacement.

All these current stars come in very cheep, which helped gunners bank balance which was frequently getting deteriorated because of the huge loan they have taken for the new home. And with the help of “Highbury squre” (redevelopment of the Highbury stadium and conversion into flats) and off loading players like Viera, Bently, Henry, Ljungberg, Reyes, Helb, Adebayor and Toure arsenal income has been in the rise and they were able to finish with a profit in excess of 30 million pounds for last two season.

End of the day, I have to appreciate what Wenger and his scouting and marketing teams has done over the most difficult period of the club when they had debts over 200-300 million pounds, no wonder every one regards Wenger as a transfer guru. I wish every Arsenal fan got to know all these before accusing Wenger for not getting in big names and letting their star players to leave.

Chennai Super Kings at IPL 4 | CSK Squad | CSK at Players Bidding in IPL 4

chennai super kings | csk

chennai super kings | csk

How to continue to be successfully? Keep the winning combination going, that was the main aim of Chennai Super Kings in the year’s IPL bidding. CSK having retained there top 4 performers of last season Dhoni, Raina, Vijay and Albie Morkel have got back R Ashwin, Badri, Michel Hussey, Tyagi, Joginder Sharma and Bailey and lost the magician and chennai mapilai Murali, my favorite bowler Balaji, Parthiv and Gony to other teams. Here is the interesting part the players they have got Bravo, Hilfenhaus, Styris, W Saha, Randiv and Kulasekara all of them without breaking the big banks.

After all this player bidding, the area where they lost are an opening batsman as a back up to Hussey who we can’t expect to play throughout the season, a spinner i really thought they should have gone for P.Ojah and an Indian Fast Bowler.

Anyways i’m completely happy with CSK’s acquisition and their moto to keep the Club loyalty going. I dont know what loyalty the club owners can expect after snubbing their own players. I really dont understand the reason behind not retaining their players by teams other than Chennai and Mumbai, at the end of the day these are the two teams who look very strong. At the end of the IPL4 all will acknowledge that any one can buy players but not victory and victory comes only as a team.

Fabegas wont leave Arsenal ! | Fabregas Barcelone Shirt | Fabregas on a Barcelone Jersey

I was in the same emotions as any Arsenal fans were when we saw Fabregas was forced to were  a Barcelone jersey.

Fabregas on a Barcelone Shirt

Fabregas on a Barcelone Shirt

This is one of the worst sights that the gunners fans were to take up in the recent past. We all know that Fabregas is Barca bound, but he wont make a move this year for sure. We saw what we will get in Barcelone in the recently concluded world cup, a bench place that wont make any footballer happy that too a super star like Fab wont be happy at all and more over if he get a place in the team also we wont be the center of play since there wold always be Xavi or Iniesta for it which a playmaker like him wont be fond of. So only when they both get retired or get out of Barca Fabregas wont want to move and more over teh Barca’s debts has to be cleared to make a 50 pound transfer, so for all gunner fans where is nothing to worry at all, we will have our fab Fabregas and will get closure to the title!!!

“You Are not fit to wear the Arsenal shirt” – The magic words of Arsene Wenger that turned the match for Gunner

Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger

How will you address a team in the half time with a goal down and playing really bad and lacking confidence (due to its recent losses), some managers will encourage and talk about the positives, some will indulge in new tackles talk, some will talk about the influence of the result for the club but Arsene Wenger said this “You Are not fit to wear the Arsenal shirt” in the half time talk after a very luke luster display of his players in the super sundays clash against Liverpool at Anfield. Those words are really a kind of encouraging words as Arsene meant that the players have let down the club prestige and the other legends who wore Arsenel shirt. This words triggered the zest in the players as they came out and passed better, won possession and won the match 2-1 thanks to the stunning strike from none other than the 5’6″ center forward Andrei Arshavin. I dont know what is there in Anfield for Arshavin, he comes up with some brilliant goals. Now that Arsenal’s title race is on for the one who have wrote off gunners.
